The first time Sam Brand met with us, he told us stories of him and his mates tearing around the Coonawarra on their BMX bikes as youngsters. These ‘kids’ are now the new generation of winemakers in the region, and recently he said, “I definitely think the region, and wines in general, need a bit of shaking up and some new vitality.” We worked closely with Sam to capture this spirit in the details of this label, including the addition of the wine stain in the scribble and the angle of the label application. There is nothing conventional about this brand. The Anarchist chooses freedom without governance, rejecting authority and the expected customs of society. The wine label design captures the essence of Sam's vision to create wines that stand out from the crowd and break with the status quo.
